Arthur McCoy Jr. is a dedicated public servant and small business owner running to represent District 8 on the Fort Worth City Council. McCoy is a graduate of Trimble Technical High School and attended Paul Quinn College, earning a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice.
Previously, he worked reviewing and securing procurement contracts for the Department of Homeland Security. Afterwards, he dedicated himself to education, serving as a teacher and baseball coach at Eastern hills, Riverside Applied, and Nolan Catholic High School. His passion for mentorship and youth development reinforces his belief in the power of education and community investment.
As a small business owner, Arthur founded and operates a landscaping company, creating jobs and supporting local economic growth. His firsthand experience navigating local regulations, managing employees, and meeting customer needs has given him a unique understanding of the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and the opportunities for economic development.
Arthur’s roots in Fort Worth run deep, with his family residing in District 8 for over 73 years. As a proud single father, he has had the privilege of raising his three children- Calei, Cohl and Stormi in the same community that he grew up in.
