With an extensive background in government contracting, education, and small business ownership, he brings a well-rounded perspective to problem-solving and policy-making.
For nearly a decade, Mr. McCoy played a critical role in reviewing and securing procurement contracts for the Department of Homeland Security, ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars while strengthening national security efforts. His expertise in navigating complex regulations and budgets has equipped him with the skills to drive efficiency, accountability, and strategic growth in local government.
After his tenure in federal service, Mr. McCoy worked as an educator and baseball coach at Eastern Hills, Riverside Applied, Nolan Catholic High School, CAN! Academy-St. Louis, Bishop Dunne High School and Duncanville High School - shaping the lives of young people through mentorship, leadership, and a commitment to excellence. His time in the classroom and on the field instilled in him a deep appreciation for the power of education and the importance of investing in the next generation.
As a small business owner, Mr. McCoy founded and successfully operates his own landscaping company, creating jobs and providing high-quality services to residents and businesses. His firsthand experience navigating local regulations, managing employees, and meeting customer needs has given him a unique understanding of the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and the opportunities for economic development.
Mr. McCoy is now ready to bring his experience, leadership, and vision to the City of Fort Worth's City Council. His priorities include strengthening local businesses, improving public safety, enhancing infrastructure, while fostering transparency and efficiency in local government.
He believes in collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and policies that empower residents to thrive.
He is committed to addressing homelessness with both immediate and long-term solutions; ensuring access to nutritious meals while also working to provide stable, safe, and supportive housing.
Everyone deserves a place to call home, and he will advocate for policies and partnerships that make that a reality.
Beyond his professional career, Mr. McCoy is deeply committed to community service. As a proud Prince Hall Mason and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., he has worked tirelessly to uplift his community through mentorship, advocacy, and charitable initiatives.
